Pests

From time to time infestations of pests may occur in our student housing units. It is therefore important that you follow the guidelines below:

Kitchen

Sort the garbage
Take out the trash daily to the designated containers.
Clean the kitchen regularly. Problem with ants (norwegian/englisk version)?
Do not leave kitchen balcony doors open if the garbage has not been taken out and is starting to smell. This may attract birds, flies and mice. These may carry infections that are not particularly pleasant for humans.

Bedsit/Apartment

Change the bedding every week.
Vacuum your bed to minimize the amount of mites.
Clean your room regularly.
If you have been abroad you may have brought pests (bedbugs, pharaoh ants etc.) back with you. These are difficult to get rid of, and are not pleasant tenants. If this is the case, please contact SiA as soon as possible. In some cases it is necessary for the resident to move out so the unit can be disinfected. All fabrics etc. must be frozen.
